Dog Days of Summer…
Enough of my press, here’s a nice article featuring a more popular member of the Willems clan.
Nelson’s renown extends beyond his bathroom abilities. He has quite an eye for art collecting as well. As mentioned in Portrait of the Dog as a Young Artist, Nelson was the first person or animal to purchase a work from now world-famous canine artist Tillamook Cheddar, or Tillie for short.
Nelson and Tillie have been butt-sniffing pals since 1999, when they and their owners spent most of their evenings hanging out in Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s Dog Bar.
Man, that seems like 49 years ago…
