Congratulations!!! So happy on both awards.

And how about your buddy Selznick for the Caldecott? Everyone was sure that book was going to get shut-out on technicalities. Always surprises at ALA.

It's a great day for my pals.

Brian's book is insanely good and deserves the gold.

Kadir is back with 2 in a row.

Jackie Woodson rocks the house Newbery style.

Peter Sis and Laura Seeger are awesome and fun to hang with.

A good year. I like all the choices...

Congrats, Mo!

Today's announcements were like the Oscars, but INTERESTING. Glad to see your name attached to several well deserved awards!

Your books continue to fly off the shelves at my library branch in Chicago, and I know these awards will make them all even more of a "hot item"!

Go, Mo! I already sent my congratulations to Marcia and the gang. Now I must decide if I should replace my well-loved and only slightly destroyed KB2 with a new one adorned with a shiny, shiny sticker . . .

Yay! Piggie and Elephant are teaching 'em to read here in Baltimore... I had kids reading those books to dogs here at the library over the weekend! The dogs seemed to like them too...

Darrin Lunde is an old pal of mine, I was so thrilled to see that he won too.

And the Selznick, man, never let it be said ALA doesn't have it in them!

Congratulations, Mo!!

You'll also be pleased to know that your "Knuffle Bunny Too" won our first ever "Hillsidecott" (mock Caldecott) award today. Over the past few weeks, my first graders and I have explored the best picture books of 2007, and just yesterday they voted on the winner - yours.

The kids cheered when they heard that you won the Caldecott honor too!

CONGRATULATIONS!
