On The Road (end of 08 edition)...

As we celebrate the day when an Italian was hired by two Spaniards and visited Haiti thinking it was China, I thought I’d layout the remainder of my travel plans for the year.

Please note that some of the schedules for these events have yet to be finalized. I’d suggest confirming with the organizers before you attend; some of these are open to the public, some are ticketed events.

There are some awesome authors scheduled at some of these programs, so I’m looking forward to some fun trips…

October Thursday 23- Saturday 25

Rabbit Hill Festival of Literature

I’ll be visiting schools and speaking to attendees on Sat. the 25th followed by a signing.

Friday November 7 – Sunday November 9

Opening celebrations
for Knuffle Funny: The Art and Whimsy of Mo Willems exhibit at the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature

Abilene, TX

This is my first solo museum exhibit. It features sketches, illustrations, ceramics, wire sculptures and all kinds of fun stuff. The weekend will involve meeting kids, teachers, attending receptions, etc…

The show will be up for a few months then travel around the country. Very cool!

The Savannah Book Fest

They’ve got a great slate of guests and seem to pull in the crowds. This will be a fun one.

Sunday November 16

The 19th Annual Illustrators Show

Opening reception 4pm

A big show featuring all kinds of rockin’ local illustrators including pals Tony DiTerlizzi, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, and Jules Feiffer. This is the first time my original illustrations will be available to the public. The Just One More Book blog will be on the scene reporting the madness.

Luncheon Speaker

Teachers, Media Specialists, Librarians, and other interested parties can plum the depth of my knowledge (about 1/2 an inch), then hear me joke around.

Sunday December 14

Meet the Artist
The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art
Amherst, MA

I’ll be chatting and maybe showing a cartoon or two followed by a signing at the museum.
