Carle Honors Art Auction Opening

"You are cordially invited to Books of Wonder for the debut of this year’s Carle Honors Art Auction to benefit The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Join artists Mo Willems, Maira Kalman, and Giselle Potter for wine, cheese, and a sneak peek at eighteen original works donated by Chris Van Allsburg, Eric Carle, Tomie dePaola, Giselle Potter, Maira Kalman, David Kirk, Matthew Reinhardt, David Macaulay, and other esteemed artists. Also on display will be the first annual Carle Honors poster, created by Mo Willems.

Brooklyn Book Festival

Reading and presentation, TARGET CHILDREN'S TENT: 10:30 am

Signing at the Bank Street tent: 11 am

Signing at the Brownstone Books tent: 12:30pm

I haven't missed one yet! This is always a fun event with lots of other authors and illustrators hanging out, reading and signing. There's a stellar line up this year. Plan to make a day of it!

Thursday, September 24th, 6pm

The Carle Honors, NYC

The big annual benefit dinner celebrating Picture Book stars, advocates, and fans. This year they will be unveiling their first annual Carle Honors Art Poster, illustrated by me (more details on that later). I'll be on hand to sign posters at the event.

Saturday, September 26:

National Book Festival

National Mall, Washington, DC

SIGNING: [note it is before my presentation] 12:30-1:30pm

Reading of my favorite Dr. Suess Book, PBS Tent: 2:30pm

My reading and Q+A presentation, CHILDREN'S TENT: 3:05pm

This is the biggie. The whole mall is filled with book lovers, authors, illlustrators, kids, you name it. I'll do a reading and a signing and spend gobs of time checking out the other authors and pals who will be crowding the schedule. Not to be missed.

Thursday, October 1, 6pm

NECBA Children’s Dinner, Hartford, CT

I'll be speaking to indie booksellers alongside the awesome Shannon Hale and Shaun Tan.
