After the war, F Willems had to fix the roof of his bakery. Traditionally you use either black or red tiles, but because of shortages, there weren't enough of either black tiles or red tiles available to completely fill his roof. The solution? Write his name in tiles.
The roof remains a monument to his inventiveness and ego to this day:
