DON'T LET THE PIGEON PLAY WITH THE CHEETAH! (Dec. Fan Mail Faves)

Let's end the year off with some fan mail favorites.  A great batch came in this month.  I was especially appreciative of the many kind notes from teachers about what they're doing with (and to) my characters to get kids READING and CREATING.

Without further ado: (Click to enlarge)

My favorite of the batch is this collaborative effort between 2 girls named Sophie entitled: DON'T LET THE PIGEON PLAY WITH THE CHEETAH!

Nice to see Edwina.  You'll be seeing more of her in 2012 in an animated short.

Bees!

Love the "Fake Blood"

Perfect simplicity

Love the word bubble bend in this one. Plus, I've never been so thin.

A: YES.

That is one upset Pigeon!

Flying!

Cliff Notes for the Pigeon Wants a Puppy.

Dance Concert!

Piggie is so awesome in this.

Thinking of their favorite things.

I love that they FIND a time machine.  Whoever misplaced their time machine is going to be really upset.

A nice spring image for the long winter.

An odd disconnect, but I also love 40.

This is the best word bubble EVER.

Any time...

Love this inverted Knuffle Bunny assignment. Take a picture of yourself, then draw the background. Lovely!

Piggie is so happy.

A zoo filled with my characters!

"The clothes make the mole"!

A future surrealist master.  Love this.
Huzzah! Thanks for all the great mail!

In more great news, PARENTS MAGAZINE named Elephant and Piggie's SHOULD I SHARE MY ICE CREAM? as one of their favorite books of 2011 with this great quote from a 6 year old: "The happy ending completely too me by surprise." Awesome!
