I hope you all have a wonderful MARCH filled with reading and laughs.  Here are some of the things planned for this month:

The New Yorker recently ran an in-depth look at my career and pessimism.

You can read the piece here.

The New York Times chatted with pal Oliver Jeffers and me about Children's Theater.

You can read the piece here.

I recently sat down for another in depth piece, a 45 minute interview on NPR's ON POINT, which includes some wonderful calls from around the country.

School Library Journal has a few extensions you can use when reading Laurie Keller's Geisel Award winning WE ARE GROWING!

You can read the piece here.

The Horn Book talks about best friends in early readers.

NANETTE'S BAGUETTE has been published in the UK and The Times (London) likes it.

A They say: "There is no such thing as a bad Mo Willems Book. Nanette's Baguette proves that he is one of the best creators of contemporary picture books for the very young."  Flattering!

Also recently published in the UK is my chapter book collaboration with Tony DiTerilzzi, The Story of Diva and FleaThe Financial Times liked it, calling it "a good-natured, friskily fun tale... complemented by superb cartooning from Tony DiTerlizzi."  Again, flattering!

The KENNEDY CENTER TOURING production of ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY! is back on the road all across AMERICA and CANADA.

It's a great show and one that often sells out.  So, get your tickets!

Remember to contact the individual venues for tickets and details.  There will be many other locations with school performances, but these dates are be open to the public.

Note: schedules are subject to change.

Here is the tour schedule for upcoming public shows:

I will be attending the performance in NORTHAMPTON, MA on MARCH 18 and doing a talk back and there will be a book signing as well.

Get your tickets from the Academy of Music before they sell out!

Other theater companies are performing my plays as well!  Check them out if they're in your area.  You'll be supporting local artists, introducing your kids to the joys of theater, and hopefully have a laugh or two.

The ZACH Theater production of ELPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY! runs thru April 28th!

Here's a nice review of that production.

Always toward the greater good.
Those of you who follow me on twitter know I've been making quite a few drawings lately, reflections on current events.

The R. Michelson Galleries in Northampton, MA will be exhibiting these explorations from March 1 - March 31 in a show titled YOU ARE NOT ALONE: Reflections on the News.

You can see images from the exhibit HERE.

If you are interested in purchasing a piece, contact the gallery.

ADDITIONALLY, there will be a poster available for sale via the gallery (you can email them).

All of my proceeds and all of the Gallery's profits will be given to the ACLU, who have been challenging and will be challenging any new directives that are in contradiction with the American ideals of openness, fairness, and equality under the law.

The Gallery will be holding an OPENING for YOU ARE NOT ALONE on Friday March 10 from 6-8 pm as part of Northampton's Arts Night Out.  I'll be attending the opening, so do come by to say 'hello' if you're in the area. (pls. note, this is not a book signing)

Pal Oliver Jeffers realized that you might want to start writing your Representatives, so he created Love Letter America, a site with downloadable postcard images from a bunch of artist (including yours truly) and links to the addresses of your representatives.  Some nice art there, and there will be more soon.

 THANKS/nice news!

Thanks to you, Elephant & Piggie's WAITING IS NOT EASY! popped back onto the New York TimesBestseller list in February.  Thanks, you!

March 28th will see the publication of two new Spanish language Elephant & Piggie Books in the US and Canada, raising the total to 6 adventures.  I hope you enjoy!  (For those who want even more, remember, esperar no es fácil!)

Sometimes it's nice to spend some time allowing your brush and your mind to wander to abstract places.  Why not give it a try?

If you want to poke around the blog, some topics that might interest you are on the sidebar.

If you'd like to see some of my cartoons and doodles, check out FROM THE MO WILLEMS SKETCHBOOK., which features 25 months of drawings and ideas from Paris, France, Northampton, MA, and beyond. They're currently re-running, so you can see an old, new drawing every day!
