MO WILLEMS STUDIO APRIL 2018 UPDATE

Thank YOU!

April 1st marks the 15 anniversary of the publication of my first book, DON'T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS!  Since that time, thanks to your enthusiasm and support, I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to create over 50 books, write several musical productions based on those books, and create animated films and exhibits as well.

Closest to my heart has been the privilege of meeting thousands of kids, parents, teachers, and librarians who have shared their love of reading and creating stories with me.

It has been a wonderful ride so far.  Thank you.

NAKED MOLE RAT GETS DRESSED: THE ROCK EXPERIENCE

Seattle Children's Theater
Runs thru May 13, 2018

“They are a little bit rat. They are a little bit mole. They are all naked.”

Well, except Wilbur, that is. Emmy winner and Caldecott honoree Mo Willems is back, once again teaming up with Deborah Wicks La Puma, composer of Elephant and Piggie’s “We are in a Play!”, for this world premiere, rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza. Grab your friends and watch as Wilbur, a clothes-loving mole rat with exceptional style, navigates the pressure to be just like everyone else. With tail-shaking tunes, empowering messages of individuality, and classic Mo Willems humor, this musical is sure to rock audiences of all ages.

I hope you enjoy this show; we had a great time putting it together for you! (Here's a review of the experience and another review from BROADWAY WORLD.)

Tickets are selling fast for this show, don't miss it if you're in the Seattle area!

Details are HERE!

But that's not all: there are lots other regional productions going on in April!

Go bring a kid to the theater if you can!

It's a wonderful experience for you and the kid'll have fun, too!

PLAY THE PLAY WITH CAT THE CAT!

Atlanta, GA
April 7 - 29, 2018

The wonderful Alliance Theater is bringing back their inventive, interactive piece of theater for the very young.
Based on Mo Willems’s beloved CAT the CAT seriesthis play explores the often terrifying experience of making a new friend. Using the rhyming and simple language of the books, this theatrical experience will invite our young audience to identify Cat the Cat’s parade of animal friends, mimic their animal sounds, and even learn a new language! When Cat the Cat meets a newcomer on the scene, the audience shares in the nerves and the joy of the experience, and ultimately makes a room full of new friends themselves. Back by popular demand, come play the play with Cat the Cat!
Because this is such an intimate performance, seating is very limited.  Full details are HERE.
